pin position on asymmetrical balls?

If a bowler has a high track is it safe to put the pin below the ring or bridge on asymmetrical balls?

Yes, should be safe. You just have to watch out not to position the MB/PSA on the negative ball side (too close to the track), because the ball might track over the holes or might even get into negative flare! The stronger the MB, the greater the danger is.

So basically it's best to just keep the pin above the finger line or even with it?  Otherwise I would have to hit my release perfect so I don't track over the finger.  It's probably best to play it safe.

I never had mine directly below....but my Animal was below and right of ring and I never had a problem.

I was told that asyms (based on the drill) "can be" less prone to hitting the fingers for high trackers.

I'm a fairly high tracker w/ a fairly inconsistent release...and I never had a problem w/ my Animal

The reason I ask is because I have changed my main release for the better and it has raised my ball track and is now a high track not inverted like before.  The problem is that I have two balls that are drilled with the pin below the ring.  I plan on using this release from this point on so I will have to change the layouts on those two balls.

I'm not sure about my span.  I know that my ring finger is 4 7/16.  I know this because I seen it on the sheet at the pro shop I go to.  I have not measured my axis point with this new release.  I'm willing to bet that it's close to 5 1/4 to pap and almost zero up/down.  It does look like it my lean towards the up but not by much.  With my new release I really come up thru the ball.  I'm getting a lot of revs but much more controllable than before.  What' great about this new release is that I can change my axis rotation so much easier.  With the new release I have my pointer finger and pinky close to the middle and ring.  I'm surprised I never did this before.  Now if I want more side roll I just move my pointer finger out a little from the middle finger all while using the same release.  This is great.  Plus I have changed my 1/8 forward thumb pitch back to 1/4 reverse pitch.

Now all I have to do is stick with pins that are above or even with the finger line; which is fine with me.

Actually, you can go pin under bridge/ring without too much difficulty.
I track real high too, and have a couple of asymmetrics with lower pins
and don't clip.  If anything, I've seen asym's lower my track compared to
sym balls.  Dizzy and Jeff are right - the MB placement will help dictate track.
I usually place mine in the strong position or on VAL.

Your saying that I can go as far as under the bridge?  I hope your correct.  I will find out this weekend when I try my Animal that is drilled with pin under ring close to the bridge.

you can put the pin 1 1/2 above the midline .If you put a weight hole down near the thumb you will push the bowtie point of the flare even higher which will ensure you dont hit the holes.With 5 1/4 axis point you will be more than fine.
