I'm looking to match the reaction of my Freak Out only to have it stronger so it can be used in a bit more oil where the Freak Out will not turn. I posted a review of this ball.
I ordered a Mean Machine and that goes long and also has a flip reaction. If I do a similar layout, will I have that same backend?
I also ordered a Equation 2, and a Robo is coming with a long pin and high top
I have a GP2 Maybe I should hit that w/magic shine and use that? Drill the Mean machine and the Robo for oil.
Any suggestions, I'm open

I think that the MACHINE is pretty close reacting to what the Freak Out was.....just becareful of the MB placement....the MB is extremely strong on the Machine.

MAchine would be a step up from the Freak Out

What about a Power Machine or Mean Machine with a tweaked cover? The reaction shape on both is a strong Flip as is with the Freak out. I have the feeling that the power machine will go too long and may be a suitable replacement for the Freak Out. Just got my Phoenix and have no idea on how to drill that. It's a 3-3/8 Pin w/ 2oz Top.

I wanted a STRONGER ball to drill and have a similar backend flip/reaction such as the Freak Out. I'm not looking to replace that ball as it does not have all that much use. I like the ball and the way it reacts. I was wondering if I can drill a Robo or Mean Machine getting a 4' Pin w/the same top as the F Out, and by polishing the cover, have the same reaction only the ability to throw it when the Freak Out goes long and does not corner.

Hey Randy,

You can probably get the Mean to have a similar reaction shape but could only be used on a heavier condition. Then again, I haven't tried like 4000 plus high gloss on that ball. It may take the Mean down to be only a few boards different. Check with FBM357, he just got hold of a Mean and he shines everything until he can see himself (ego problem..

Just got the Mean Machine in. It is a 3" pin 3-1/4 top, not a 4" pin like the Freak Out. Does that make a difference? I mean the Freak Out is a 4-1/4 x 4-1/4. I can do that drill with a 3" pin blank.
The EQ 2 is a 3-1/4 pin, 3 top. Getting the Robo tomorrow. I asked for a 3-1/2 - 4" pin high top

Hey Randy, you should still be able to drill the Mean with pin above fingers. You'll just have to drill the fingers a little deeper (depending on your span) to make sure it will be legal.
