Skid/Flip is always a good idea, The Xception could work as the middle piece. Wouldn't be a bad move at all.

It will fit quite well in the med oil spot but tell us about what type of reaction you want. Do you want a smooth roll or more of a strong arc or even a skid/snap? Xception goes quite long and snaps pretty hard but it is great for medium oil and I think it would fit in nicely.

The Xception would definately fit there. As mentioned though, what kind of reaction are you looking to get between the 2 balls you listed?

The Xception would fit that slot nicely and in my opinion, its the best ball Track has made in the last year. All of the others that they have made are great balls, but I really have a soft spot for the Xception. Great Ball.

I just close my eyes and throw the ball

Hey jonah,

The Xception is a great piece for length and a strong backend.  If you want something smoother, the Freakazoid is also a good medium ball that has more of an arc motion in reaction.  The Xception can be drilled to be more controlled on the backend as well if you place the mass bias correctly.  Unfortunately, there are still some unexperienced drillers that lack the knowledge or understanding to help create this reaction.  Hope this helps some...
