Looking for a new ball
« on: January 24, 2006, 04:11:15 AM »
Hey guys I'm looking for a ball to use on medium/heav.  oil lanes where i can play the outside line, basically play right up the boards.  The ball would be used on a Typical house shot.  I feel my game has changed a bit and prefer the outside line rather than trying to play deep inside.  Any suggestions would be apprec.

Thanks,

Doug

Depending on the amount of oil you consider medium to heavy, The One may be the answer. Patrick Allen played a similar line to what you described and it was great.

In the Track line, you have a few choices. Right now, without knowing more, the Solution PP is a great benchmark/even reacting ball. Its not too much, not too little....

Doug,

What ball are you currently using for that type of condition....and how is it working for you?

In the "THS" end of it you really want to play up the boards that are drier? or do they actually have some oil outside?

Are lanes are oiled right before league.  I actually would not call it THS. Its Def not a wall shot.  Currently don't have anything I can use to play straight up.

Doug,

The other equipment you have....is it too strong to play straight up? If so, please let me know what it is that you have.

Thanks,
Carl

My friend's Bully seems relatively weak.  He uses it to play up the boards quite often.  If your Bully won't let you play up the boards (too strong), I think something mid-priced with a good amount of polish would work well.
