Arsenal Reactive vs. Paradigm
« on: November 17, 2005, 05:39:45 AM »
I know quite a bit of you recommended the Arsenal Reactive as my fit between the GP2 and Triple XXX. But I'm curious as to how the Paradigm would line up here...

( I know this is a Track board, but nobody posts on Storm )

Unfortunately, I have not drilled a single Paradigm....no interest in Storm around here. However, if the Paradigm is a pearl reactive as I believe it is, the overall move would be very close to the Triple as it is also a pearl reactive if I remember right. Thus why we recommended the Arsenal Reactive, while it is a reactive, it is a dull solid, and thus would give you a different, quicker look than the Triple, but still be less than the GP2. A Delta would fit as well, but it would be getting close to the GP2 and may outbackend the GP2 as well!

Hey Bull,

I've drilled only one Paradigm so far and I drilled it for length and finish and it does exactly that.  It's a different look in comparison to our Arsenal Reactive, the AR reads sooner with more of a continuous movement on the backend.  Check my profile bud, the vids are there.....

Nice vids.

Ok haha yall solved my problem with debating on the Paradigm, but now I have a new one.

The Rule Delta 1...

Does it have to have tons of oil to hook? Like my GP2 won't move anywhere in our league.

It needs some oil, but the heaviest oil will make the ball skid too long (where you need the GP2), and too light of oil and it is aggressive enough that it will burn up. The Delta is a great medium heavy condition ball! However, I feel the Reactive will give you more separation between the GP2 and the Triple...but either will fit in between the 2.

Which ball Delta or AR would have better recovery?

Hey Bull,

Sorry for the delay. The shot at the house where my shop is located is typically pretty soft, it's oiled from 34ft and buffed to about 42ft with heavier centers and dry between 5-10, there is some hang outside 5 board. However, our pattern can change and get pretty thick when the mechanic changes wicks on the oiling machine and this is the case when I did the vids of the Arsenal Reactive, everything gets thicker and heavier, even the dry area.

If you look at the following vids of the Delta on the 2 different shots, you can see what I'm trying to say.

http://media.putfile.com/deltastroke - drier shot

http://media.putfile.com/Delta1ARPU - heavier shot

By looking at the second vid which compares the Phenom Unleashed - Delta 1 - Arsenal Reactive, you can see that the Delta has a much stronger backend reaction while the Reactive rolls a little sooner and is smoother on the backend.  They have different reaction "shapes"...hope this helps explain some.

Ok I see now...

I really think I'm going to go with the Rule Delta 1 ( sorry Clint! ). I think it would fit my style much better, espicially with a layout drilled with a lot of backend. If the Delta doesn't work out, I'll buy a Reactive. Haha wouldn't mind at all carring both balls. Thanks for the help guys! I'll post back in Jan. how I do with it.

Don't be sorry, by all means, get the ball that will fit your arsenal better!

The guys and myslef are on here giving suggestions, but it does not mean what we say is set in stone...I always say I would like to be able to see you throw some before giving a recommendation, but obviously on here, that is usually 99% impossible.
