Rule Mini-Review
« on: August 19, 2004, 06:01:59 PM »
Ok guys, Ex drilled me up 2 Rules tonight.
The first one we hit with grey scotchbrite before we drilled it, we drilled it leverage pin 1" above the midline, MB 1" past the VAL an 4" from the PAP.
This ball likes to roll off my hand, roll in the midlane, and roll on the backends. I had to almost target the 10-pin (I'm a righty) to get the ball out far enough (although I was on a worn down house shot). I can see this Rule replacing my Animal for oil(although my Animal isn't drilled quite as strong), and I can even see using it once the shot breaks down since it has good recovery.
Rule #2
We hit it with the grey pad then put Magic Shine on it before the drill
Pin under the ring finger, MB left and under the thumb, pin 4" from PAP, and MB is 6+3/4" from PAP.
I really like the length this one gets, but the backend is what I really like about it. The Goo coverstock seems to be all Tracks says it is. Even with the Magic Shine, this ball makes the turn with plenty of hit. I can see using this ball alot on everything but floods and fried lanes. I've threw a few shots that felt like I forgot to hit the ball, and it still charged back.

So all in all I love both Rules so far. I'm sure they will both be great at the Masters.
(btw my stats are about 300RPM, 17.8MPH off my hand)
Hope this helps

I just wanted to add to Sean's post that-------both of these balls roll incredibly, and in a totally different manner from eachother.

This tells me incredible versatility lies within the Rule. Track is giving the bowler balls lately that can be used on almost any condition even if the cover is very strong.

Rule #1 rolls very smooth and Rule #2 is very angular at the breakpoing. 2 totally different balls with a slight coverstock tweek and ofcourse differing in the location of the MB. Both of them have tremendous IMPACT when it reaches the pins. I watched Sean get extremely deep with both (too deep for what the shot was calling for) but they both made the turn and where alot of equipment would leave the weak 10, both of these Rules tripped it out.

Amazing piece of equipment. I just have to be patient....mine should be here soon.

Have to agree with the versatility as the Rule's mass bias is one of the strongest or the strongest mass bias used in a Track ball to date, meaning the positioning of the mass bias will have a greater effect on this ball's reaction. The cover being very versatile helps just as much in my book. Anyone could set a good arsenal with the latest 3 Track releases!

I recommend that Track rename this ball to Ridiculous. A friend let me throw his Friday night. His fingers are fatter than mine so the grips were too big and I really couldn't control the ball like I wanted, and that makes the results even more incredible. I just laid the ball out with a slight turn of my wrist and the thing went up the lane and exploded into the pocket at the very end. I'm not as well educated on the layouts as some of you but he polished his and the pin looked to be above the fingers and the mb was just below the thumb. I can't wait to get my own that I can control.

Still have not drilled mine up, but watching Sean throw them even more....I have to disagree with windoor, I have not seen Sean leave many 10 pins at all. Infact...long pattern with Carrydown he was getting it back, and no one else on the pair was able to.

I am still impressed!
