My pro shop is moving!
« on: July 12, 2005, 03:34:58 AM »
As I mentioned in a thread yesterday, I was looking to come up with some cash to buy the only other pro shop within 20-25 minutes of me. My wife and I just got word today we have been approved, which surprised the heck out of me since we just bought a house and a brand new van within the past 4 months. What this means is now I have NO competition within 20-25 minutes of me, plus, instead of being free-standing, I am now going to be in a 24 lane center. I will have a constant flow of traffic instead of just the people who know me. I appreciate everyone's help here yesterday.

Thanks!

Do all of us get ONE FREE Track ball now Clint?

I have one question though.. Are you gonna quit your job to work in this shop?

Congrats on the shop bud.

Since I took a loan, I will have to work both jobs....plus, there is plenty of upgrades I want to do, so I will constantly be spending more money, so I will probably be always working my day job, but being a financial advisor isn't too bad either.

Sorry Clint, I have not been online a hole lot lately, because of vacation and bowling our men's State Tourny.  Just reading this and find out it sounds like you have your work cut out for you and I hope you are busy and make lots of smiling faces.

Your life sounds like mine with the new house and car, godd luck with everything.

Congratulations Clint. Hope all goes extremely well for you.

Satisified Customers will create more and more business for you as they will advertise for you. For example, I bowl in two 40 lane houses. In my favorite house the pro shop person was an older person and he was also a SOB. His knowledge and quality of layouts and drilling was excellent. He had some business, but not a lot because he was a SOB. In the other house, this person also was an older person with some but not as much knowledge and was new at drilling. He made a lot of mistakes to begin with, but got better as time went on for two years and here this....he had more business than the other person in the other house. So here, personality and attitude played a big part.

Well, my favorite house wouldn't renew the lease of the proshop person that was a SOB, so he had to leave. The new person that leased the pro shop had good knowledge of layouts and was extremely accurate in drilling just like the guy that got kicked out. This new person also had an excellent attitude and people (including myself) really liked this person and every one started telling others to go there and they did. Within 6 months this shop had almost all of the business in the north OKC area and put the other shop out of business. Even in the summer when things are slow for everyone else, this shop has been busy.

This shop being a first class shop caused more and more people from other houses to get their equipment from this person and bowl there as well, so it was a win-win situation for everyone. For the pro shop, for the bowling house as their business increased and for the customer to have a great pro shop and bowling house to go to.

I hope all goes well for you like this and that your shop will thrive once you get there and satisify the customers with both quality and attitude. This will also generate business for the bowling house. I know you will "give it your all and best shot."
