Fang LS Control coverstock, on the Mean Machine, was a Solid/Pearl blend. Hope this helps!

Fang is a particle coverstock, it was used on the Phenom and Phenom Unleashed.  I think it was on the Sheer Havoc as well.

Hey Lillen,

Our Fang cover is particle but the Mean and Strike Machine(international piece) actually was a new formulation in a reactive form.  It was designed with larger resin/reactive pores which was intended to grab in thicker oils of today but would offer a stronger backend reaction compared to other particle covers at that time.  Hope this helps some...

I never knew that.  However, I do know that whenever Rick speaks, he's correct.

Sorry for my misinformation. It has been discussed a lot here on the boards that the Mean had a Solid/Pearl blend cover. Oh well. Sorry!

No need to apologize Brian, you are correct.  The Mean did have pearl in the cover.  I also questioned the use of pearl on a ball designed for heavier oil and was informed that there are many types of pearls that are utilized.

This helped me understand more in depth of all the various materials (ie: resin, particle or pearls) used in covers and their varying strengths from strong to weak.

X, there's a little woman in my house (with the same last name as mine) that would boldly argue with you regarding that comment...

I guess after almost 3 yrs and almost 1,000 games on my Mean Machine, the balls is still on of the best balls I've ever own. Still plays awesome on flooded conditions (synthetic lane).

Heh, same thing for a little lady in my house.

That would be sweet if you did come back.  It's not been the same.  As for my MM, I thought it was still one of my stronger balls.  After last week, that is not the case.  However, I did also see that when down and in is the way to go, the MM is awesome.
