Where is the Pearl Uprising?
« on: October 14, 2008, 11:53:11 PM »
Does anyone know if they plan on doing this, because I hope so. The uprising is hands down the best ball i have ever put my hands in. Right now with the modified #1 drilling, ends up being 4 1/4 X 3, I am averaging about 230 with it over 12 games. liked it so much went out and got a used one with the # 2 drilling that seems like a 5 1/2 X 4 1/2. Haven't got to use that yet, needs thumb adjustment

The ball is a powerhouse that is versatile, and I can use all night just by using different hand positions and moving deep. Carry is awesome, I am now saying this carries better than me Supernova XP, and for a long time I couln't say a ball does that.

I am anxiously waiting on a pearl Rising to come out. If it is anything like the UpRising with more length we are in for a treat.

That is not a pearl UpRising. The coverstock is a pearlized version of the Rising's coverstock which was much more porous. The UpRising covers retains energy much better. I have no idea what will be on the next ball but Fig has stated on here there will be a HP release in the near future. When the information release date arrives, we will all know what we are getting.

ya I noticed that after I typed it. I would prefer the Uprising cover being pearlized. Never threw the Rising so I have no comment on that ball.

Lets hope this new HP is going to be a pearl Uprising.

Based on the information given I wouldn't count on that. Maybe that will be down the road. The next ball is supposed to be a replacement for the Rising so it should be pretty early and aggressive.

Yep they most love bowling in the far east because companies pimp out new product by the week. Track has the whole phoenix series that the U.S. was screwed out of not to mention an additional couple balls per series that will never see our soil. It's great because their big promotion over there is how it is made in the U.S. in Kentucky. Why not save on freight and release some over here as well. Look at the number of Widow and NV series released over seas compared to here. It's crazy.

At least Storm and Brunswick leak out a decent amount of their over seas stuff here and list it on their site.

But our economy is sagging horrifically and theirs is probably doing much better. People here won't even buy excellent condition used balls. We can't even deal with the 3 - 4 release every 6- 9 months.

Unless you're rich or your job or job type is guaranteed for the rest of your life, most people can nolonger afford to be a member if the ball of the month club. I would count on even fewer release each year here.

It's been that way long before our economy fell out. They must really like bowling more.

Don't forget the Asian market is totally in a world of its own, literally.  I'd say that Rising in the picture is an 'Asian' release only.  I heard there is a new one out in a few weeks but it may not be a Rising.

Apparently, the next U.S. release is as of right now the end of November.  It is supposed to be in the Rising line, not to mention that this ball is actually supposed to replace the Rising-there has been alot of reports of problems with the Rising-though I personally haven't seen any.

With regards to the ball of the month club.... There is no need for a new ball every month. Technology doesn't advance that fast. It usually takes a little time for a ball to catch on, by the time it does, you throw a new release out there. The pro shops would be reluctant to stock any of your product knowing it will be yesterday's news in two weeks. Why do you think the Black Widow Pearl and Playmaker took so long to be released after the Black Widow and the GameBreaker? It was because the BW and GB were the best selling balls in their lineups and why come out with a sequel when the original is your best seller and are on backorder. I think you will see 1-2 releases at each price point per season which is plenty. If you release 12 balls a year, that is way to many to keep in production, you wind up discontinuing balls that are 9-15 months old for no reason. Just my take on it.

Thats a good point I didn't consider. Back in the early 90's manufactures were relaeasing a lot of equipment back to back. Which once again makes me think to do that overseas with all of the companies available in the U.S. and include ones that aren't like ABS, Revolution, and Dynothane must mean they have a heck of a market for it.

But one of the best things Ebonite did back in the day was that ball package where you got all the wave series, cat series and stinger series for like $450 plus the 8-ball when it came out in the 2nd package. That was a deal.

i cant speak for no one else...but why worry about the pearl up-rising when the original up-rising is a beast???i love this ball so much i'm going to marry mine!!!seriously tho....ever since the good people at Track(FIG and Vicki)sent this ball to me...and i got it drilled up,i have not seen a condition that this ball cant handle!!!i bowled in a baker styled tournament today and used my up-rising the whole day and it was money!!!so forgiving and so constitent!!!!why would i want a pearl version?????i know for you guys that can afford balls upon balls you want the next big thing.....but this ball in my book can take on any other premier ball on themarket right now and win hands down!!!!balls like the cell and the dimension any lane 1 ball or lane masters or legends, global 900 or amf!!!!bring them on....bring them all on....the up-rising will eat them up and spit them all out!!!
