Which ball to keep?
« on: February 19, 2007, 04:57:00 AM »
I have a TRACK ARTILLERY & a TRACK INERTIA, I received in a shipment of used lefty-drilled balls.

I'm keeping one of the balls...

Never heard much about either balls, did they fall through the crack?

Duke,

Actually I feel that both of those balls fell through the cracks. Each of them are very nice in their own way. The Artillery is a strong midlane ball with tremendous energy retention for the backend. The Inertia is an extremely versatile ball. Currently I hit mine with 360 abralon to be used as my oil ball....however with its OOB finish it was awesome in all aspects of mediums(med/heavy, med, med/light).

Thanks, Carl.

I'm leaning towards drilling up the Inertia.
I like the Arsenal Aggressive I have.

Duke,

Do yourself a favor bud...keep them both. The Artillery is nothing like any of the arsenals before it.

The Inertia has the "peak particles"  in the coverstock...which to me is a very nice selling point.

IMHO - both of these balls are real sleepers in the Track line.  The Artillery is a great ball - low RG with great reaction.  The Inertia is a great benchmark ball especially if you knock the shine off of it.  It rolls very true - it does not over-react in the dry and if  you tug it in the oil it still gets into a roll without hitting flat.  When I bowl on a pattern that I am unsure of, the Inertia is the first ball out of the bag.  It gives me a great read on the lane condition.

If you can only keep one.. then i would go Inertia! My Inertia hooks on any lane condition out there. And it's even drilled weak/kinda smooth layout. It's drilled 3 1/4 x 0 .. very smooth. Sometimes when it hooks, it looks like it stands up and goes, nothing sharp, and nothing flippy. It's current surface is at 800 grit and i love it. I can use it on any lane condition like i said. It's amazing. Any questions feel free to ask.

BTW, also hits very, very hard. It's sometimes unbelieveable. Especially tonight. I had the 3-4-6-7 split standing. I hit the 3 and 6 dead on, and they went into the pit. About a second later, they came back and hit the 4 and 7.. it was crazy!

I agree with Mike, the inertia really reads the lanes well without the polish, which you wouldnt think with the particle coverstock.

For me it really didn't act like your typical partical ball, very good benchmark...i have one NIB in 16#'s and i wish it was 15 so i could drill it up for myself...

Hey Duke,

Keep both but fix the Inertia first.  If you like smooth rolling and predictability, this is your piece.  The Artillery also offers a different look with its lower rg (as Carl stated) yet still has good finish.

Duke,

Keep the Inertia.  This is a highly underrated piece and I consider it my benchmark.  Ask Rick how much I like this ball  He gave me a great layout for the ball and it works super!
