Grit of the Rule?
« on: November 23, 2004, 01:42:57 AM »
I have a friend who is a full roller and he is having problems getting the Rule to hook at the pins. Seems the ball just slides by or entires weak. I told him since he throws medium speed (15-16 mph) with LOW revs he might have to change the coverstock. I was thinking 600 or even 400 grit. Does anyone know what the out of box grit is?

Thanks

Hey Berreez,

Vasilis is correct, I was informed by Del and Brian that "Mega smooth" is a 1500 finish.  Chuck G likes it 1500 wet sanded, probably helps keeps the pores a little more opened up.

I agree with your thoughts, have your friend try sanding the ball down to about 600 and see what reaction he gets.  Pretty hard for a full roller to really turn over as it is, plus his lower revs doesn't really help that fact either.  Keep us posted, like to be as much help as possible.
