Topic says it here..
So why is it? Because Del Warren is gone? It won't be the end of the world here guys. Del Warrne was a very good ball designer, and i think every brand out there knows that.
I know i'm not giving up on Track. They will be back stronger with the new designer, and be killing some competition.
This is just my opinion and i would like other one's also. I've just seen so many Track balls being sold recently that it's driving me insane! There's nothing wrong with them!

Well i have the highest respect for the Warren's never met them personally, i have friends on here and staffers that know them well. But i also like Phil alot and it makes sense to give him control back of the company he made in the first place. He made some really great balls back when he was in charge, i hope he continues the ball a day deal and maye will bring back some of his better retro ball with updated cores and covers.
I believe Phil will make it a money making compnay again, if they were really smart down there Phil would be the company president for all of the brands. But seeing they can good people the guy running this operation must be kind of mean spirited person with the way they were all fired last week.

I'm not giving up on Track. Heck in the last 2 weeks I picked up 4 more track balls thus far and several more here in the next couple of weeks.

I believe most people are reacting on raw emotion but find most peoples responses comical. Its a business with high's and lows. Changing of the garb at most all big business brings the axe to many whether it is correct or not. Mr Warren was indeed a heck of a gent but Track didn't bring itself to the forefront like most would believe on here. Columbia has been so-so at best since the messenger Ti-pearl (sales wise). Phil has been successful across a few companies so it should be of no major suprise that Columbia is looking for a solid plan to boost market share back to their favor. It is nice to hold network support as the Track Forum has acted like a family but please look who is taking the helm and realize the company is in just as qualified (probably more) hands. Most of you didn't follow Del like a pup when he was designing balls for AMF.

I think the real problem is that we hate to see good employees from a company that we do business with either move on or fired. I'm sure C300 compensated everyone correctly.

I've been throwing nothing but Track since 98. This Track guy isn't goin anywhere! While I am disappointed with losing Del I have confidence that Mr. Track (Phil) will continue to lead us in the right direction.

Let's see....my average has gone from the 170's to the 190's using Track over the last couple of years. No...I don't think I'm going anywhere at all.

maybe people are looking at this the wrong way. i'm not trying to be a jerk at all, so please don't take it like that, but maybe the competition's stuff is gaining more and more respect? for instance, since the introduction of the one, Ebonite's business has boomed around here. also, Morich and Lane 1 are doing nothing but growing. so maybe rather than track "falling apart" or people losing faith in track, maybe they're simply trying something else, and who would blame them? every company makes quality products, as loyal to one company as any of us are, we all have to admit, that every company making stuff today makes good ones. bad ones too, don't get me wrong, but everybody's putting out quaulity.
just my opinion.

Or maybe they are trying to get as many ball companies together to become the Official Ball of the PBA? Therefore all PBA players must use a C300 umbrella companies balls? They did just come to a very large sponsorship deal.

Lefty hi-trak,
I agree with what you say- you just made me giggle with "changing of the garb".
I always thought it was " changing of the guard" like at Buckingham Palace. Maybe your expression in America is this but I just found it funny.

How can anyone say that Track went soft after the Synergy line. The Elite line sold very well and the Heat had one of the best years ever on the PBA tour.
I love what Del did with Track and I'm sorry to see him go but since I grew up on Track under Phil I'm happy to see him back.
Phil, can we bring back the original Red Stomp and the Ocean Blue Triton. I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
DW

I second the motion of a new Ocean Blue Triton, what a ball!

I've been living in R&D this whole week. Look for a new core /cover combo Symmetrical in jan. Then what I think will remind you of the "old" Track winners to show up at bowl Expo.

Track has made some really good equipment. The Animal, angular, havoc, CT, PU ect...
I just feel that bowlers want to try other brands as well. I used to throw only Track but when I triedHammer I made the switch. Hammer balls just really hooked up great with me.
Every ball company makes good equipment. It's just what appeals to the bowler at a particular time.
I personally feel Ebonite/Hammer is making a great run for the top spot!

They are doing a hell of a job but, IMO some of the covers (GB whatever, Juiced, etc) dont hold up well. IMO it has always been a big Ebonite problem. BTW, I know you are a fan of the doom, have you tried the Equation? I liked the Doom but, the Equation is plain out stupid in comparision! I LOVE this ball and its one of the best I have ever thrown.

Well, I'm not a loyal Track guy; I just kind of rediscovered the brand this year with the Machine series.
I would wager that Del Warren had a major hand in that release. All I know is I threw a bunch of Track balls I hated until the Machine came up, and then the Mean Machine.
The last Track ball I had before my Machine and MM was a red Enforcer reactive. It was a very good ball, even if my bridge cracked all to hell. But it wasn't a great ball. The last "great" Track I threw was the old Sensor II Xcel (purple pearl). I'd love to find one of those NIB again.
This year, I've bought the Machine, the MM, the Solution PPEX and the Arsenal Angular. I love the first three; the Angular is still giving me fits. Three out of four ain't bad, though, I guess.
Up until this year, I'd been a loyal Storm customer and will still probably purchase a greater amount of Storm in the future than Track. But until Warren left the company, I would have always given Track a look, anyway. Now, I'm not so sure. It will be critical for the next Track designer to pick up where Del left off, because just about every Track ball from 2005 back to the late 1990s did not work well for me at all.
What I'm most perplexed by is the fact Del ended up at Kegel, which is like General Patton going to Japan to teach military strategy. Everything Kegel has worked for in regards to the standard ball initiative seems to be to get people out of aggressive, assymetrical equipment and into basically a big plastic marble. I don't trust Kegel and I'm confused by Del working for them.
As for Track in general, I'll be watching with a skeptical eye.

I gotta agree with FBM357, the Synergy Pearl is my all time fave Track ball. I threw it for 6 years before I gave it to a kid that was just starting to bowl. That was the ball that got me started with Track.
