Looking for a suggestion or two on a layout for a newly acquired 15# NIB Track Phenom (thank you, eBay!), unsure of pin or TW though, so that will obviously play into the choice of layout.
My stats: About 15-16 mph, i'd say medium-high amount of revs, high tracker, somewhat versatile (meaning can crank it, can stroke it, most comfortable somewhere in between). I like to play inside if I can, but can play outside as long as it's not terribly direct (but learning
), I like layouts that provide a bit of pop on the backend, I find that I can make the ball roll more with hand position changes than I can make it flip with the same changes
Ideally this ball will fit the medium-heavy to heavy spot in my "arsenal" and it will be the strongest ball I'll have right now (more than a Black Widow drilled pin under ring, MB strong, sanded to 1000 grit).
I was thinking of trying Mo's asymmetrical flip layout, which is pin 1 1/2" from VAL, 3 to 4 1/2" from PAP, MB at least 1" right of centerline, the description is "ball reacts hardest at the breakpoint and turns the corner (short transition drilling)". This looks ideal but I would be worried then about the ball being more long than strong, but it is a strong-ish particle ball designed for heavier oil, so maybe I shouldn't be too worried.
Any suggestions here would be appreciated, feel free to talk me out of this idea of mine and talk me into a new one, I'm always open for suggestions...many thanks ahead of time!
