Will the Unleashed fit here?
« on: July 22, 2004, 07:43:09 AM »
Ok, I'm reworking my arsenal for the winter...so, would this arsenal work?

Spare
Light:  Power Groove Reactive
Medium, maybe medium-light:  Thing Returns
Medium-heavy:  Diesel Particle
Heavy:  Phenom Unleashed?

Now my question, does anyone have a good idea of whether or not the Unleashed can be used as a heavy oil ball?  The DP is more of a medium-heavy ball, so I need something a bit more....

So is the Unleashed stronger than the diesel, or should I just go with the Animal?  I'd prefer the Unleashed, since I wanted to have a particle pearl, but if not, I'll just get the Animal.

Well, my diesel isn't drilled too strong, more of a arcing control ball, and I was gonna polish it.  I just wanted a ball that will give a more pronounced hook, instead of an arcing control ball.

So, then should I get the animal?  I'm assuming it's stronger than the diesel...

ya the animal would work, or a super carbide bomb, or a midnight scorcher, or my personal favorite, the angle evo tour

The Animal would be the better choice. It is not polished, it has a factory compound finish (1000grit compound) which is only to help it get down the lane because of how heavy the particle load is.

Hi Andy,

Like Ex recommends, the Animal handles heavier oil much better than the Unleashed.  Just make sure your ball driller utilizes the proper layout
(esp. mb positioning) and cover prep to ensure an earlier reaction.  If you decide on an Animal, just get hold of Ex or myself and we'll try and help with your layout bud, thanks.

Thanks, I've decided on just using the diesel for heavy, and I'm gonna get a sheer havoc to fit inbetween the TR and diesel, so I can save some money.

Andy,

Good choice on the Sheer. Great ball at a great price! Performance is fantastic. More bowlers need to have this ball.
