now to layout my rule delta 1
« on: January 26, 2006, 02:28:43 AM »
OK...So I went out and got my first recommended Track ball... a Rule Delta 1 15# 4"pin  and I need some help laying it out.  I'm the guy with low rev's and a 4.5 pap.  I actually watched that video made by steveaustin and I throw the ball pretty similar to the first guy (not sure which guy was which but the guy with the lower revs bowling straight up the lane)I'd like the ball to break harder coming into the pins then my Hawg (1" pin just right of the ring) does currently so anything that would help that should help me do better.
TIA

Id tell myour driller that they should put pin under ring, and the massbias 3 inches right of your thumb hole.

With a 4" pin out I would place the pin above the finger line.  Next I would put the pin for your low revs at around the 4" pin to pap distance.  Next I would place the MB in between your thumb and VAL.  If this requires a balance hole then place that below your pap.

This should give a nice look.  One thing you need not worry about this ball is it turning the corner.  This ball has monster recovery and with the pin above you will get a huge backend.  I hope this helps bud.

You have a few factors working here:

Low track=length as you have more side than end over end.
Goo LS cover gets length on its own
You have low revs

If you put the pin above the fingers, this will increase length..something you already have with your natural game. If you drill it like so, the ball may go too long and not recover. In order to make it stand up quicker, placing the pin below the ring, or close to there. Additionally, I would place the mass bias in between your thumb and VAL...the closer you get to the VAL, the sooner the ball will try to start rolling. If you want more backend than your Hawg, you will probably see it as the Hawg, being a light load particle, will start sooner than a reactive ball and have less backend for the same reason.

badpoly,

You want more finish in the backends than what the Hawg gave you.

I would still lay it out rather strong......place the pin 3 3/4 from your PAP.....1 3/4 above your midline with the MB 1inch left of your VAL. This will get the ball started and the coverstock will take over on the backend.

Keep the OOB finish to start and let us know how the Delta1 works for you with that surface.

Goodluck,
Carl
