Title: Would the Desert Heat excel on the Cheetah Pattern?
Post by: SteveAustin2808 on July 21, 2005, 07:58:02 AM
Hey Track fans,

Just wanted a little feedback about the Desert Heat. Mainly staff members, but everybody else is welcomed to throw in their opinion. I was wondering if the Desert Heat would work great on the condition because of how short the pattern is? Just wondering, let me know and thanks again for the help!

I don't think so. My reasons are due to the Cheetah still having a fair amount of oil, just the shot is up the boards. However, my Desert should be here today, and I will be able to give you a better explanation after using mine from what I see.

I do believe that it would if you played with the surface alittle.  I some sucess on the short pattern out here in Cali with a DRY HEAT that was scuff with a Burg pad.  Drill it alittle more agressively then you normaly would, like 4 1/2 x 3 with a medium size x-hole, try not too use a big pin (1-2inches).

Hope this helps!

GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS

Michael,

I agree with Clint. The Desert absolutely needs dry. A surface adjustment could probably help you with getting a bit more out of it, but it reacts so smoothly off of the dry OOB that it may not have time to recover.

I used a Dry Heat on Old Pattern E. It still hooked alot outside of 5.

The Desert Heat would work GREAT on that. But that was the OLD oil. With the new Absolute Control oil and the Tweak they did to the old E to make it the Cheetah. I might not be enough.

Just my thoughts bowling on Both conditions.
