Title: Would this ball?

I'm going to try this another way.  Would the 811 be a good ball to handle a little lighter conditions and fit below a Mission 2.0 but be stronger than an Ebonite Cyclone or the Columbia Freeze?

811 is going to be stronger than the 2.0 and both are much stronger than either entry level balls. Unless you were to drill the 811 weaker, the 2.0 and 811 are essentially the same ball (type of reaction). They are both asymmetrical long and strong pieces to the point where the drilling and surfaces would have to be drastically different in order to see a huge difference. If you have the 811, i would drill it to be stronger and polish the 2.0 because it can handle more oil than the 2.0, whereas the 2.0 tends to be a bit squirty on heavier patterns.

As far as being, stronger than the freezes or cyclones,.... DEFINITELY!!! Basic law of bowling. Your asymmetrical equipment will be stronger because they have that something extra (flip block or core design) to get the ball to turn the corner. The entry symmetricals are cover dominant so you can manipulate the reaction with surface so long as you have friction on the back to get the ball to turn over. Hope it helps and good luck.

I would agree the 811 will be stronger than the Freezes which to me are control balls, but I don't know about it being stronger than a Cyclone. The Cyclone is a top of the line piece, being sold at an entry level price. It will surprise you.

yea your 811A is going to be a lot stronger than your Freezes or cyclones...  unless you specifically drill your 811 to not be strong....   I would guess your Freezes / Cyclones are going to be similar to the 300 Line ball....

Gee guys, thanks for the coroboration regarding the Cyclone. Since it has an assymetrical core, I believe it would be stronger....just as I mentioned.

I think the Cyclone could easily fall in the same catagory as the track 500 series balls. I have a 300C,and my Cyclones are considerably stronger.
