Title: Would this drill be correct?
Post by: Rock77 on August 11, 2005, 02:54:27 AM
Ok, based on all the discussions and trying to understand Asymmetrical cores. Here is what I gathered and concluded for drilling my new GP2. As an FYI, my other GP2 had the bridge crack on it so Track replaced it with a new one.

Now, if I want to drill this ball for heavy oil, and I mean heavy stuff. I would basically try to max the ball out and get into a roll as early as possible, right?

So, with that said, I would want to maximize track flare by putting the pin at 3 3/8" from PAP and the mb would end up on my VAL to get it into its earliest roll. Thus leaving me at 3 3/8 X 0. Does that sound about right to you guys?? If not, tell me what I need to fix.

That is almost exactly how my monster is laid out, and it flat out needs lots of oil to work or it burns QUICK! I have used mine only a few times, but those times I was so glad to have something like that in my bag!
