Rising SE - possible repeat
« on: February 11, 2009, 05:16:00 AM »
I didn't look through all the threads here, but I was wondering why the Rising SE isn't listed as one of the Track Balls on this site. I am thinking about investing in one, and would have liked to have read reviews about it on here. Anyone know why?

I did have a Rule GP2 in the past was very pleased with it. The Rising SE looks like a very good ball, saw Blaine throwing it at the Regional he won.

I am sure someone else complained about this, which is why I labeled it as I did, lol.

Is this for med-heavy to heavy oil with a big backend?
Compare to cell if possible?

FWIW Not in my eyes. A friend has been trying to get his to work.
It's a pearl with the Rising's/UpRising very strong core, made slightly stronger in a couple of areas, with the cover sanded to 4000 grit Abralon.

I'd say it was a medium to medium-heavy oil ball, at best, if left dull or made duller.

Not in the Cell's class, as near as I can tell. The Cell is a dull, 2000 grit Abralon solid. for medium-heavy to heavy oil, in general,

I would say the S.E. is for med-heavy to heavy oil.The ball has been amazing for me since I've gotten it.  I've also have thrown the Cell Pearl with the same layout and same surface.  The Cell Pearl is a touch stronger in the back, but clears the heads and reads the mids the same as the S.E.

I do know that there are some reviews on bowlingball.com, one of which I wrote myself.

But, to each their own as they say.

I too was surprised to see no reviews for this ball.  I'm thinking about buying this ball, as I heard it gives you the length and a violent snap on the backend. Not sure how it compares to the Cell Pearl for that.

I have medium revs/speed and like to play straight up the second arrow.  My Storm T-Road Pearl gives me the length I need on the medium, but I'm looking for something a step up from that ball for the first game.  I never see heavy oil, so I'm thinking this is a good fit for me.

Appreciate your thoughts!

Jorge, I think the SE is the best of the three so far.  It has length, but can handle more mid lane then the Up Rising, and has more backend then the Rising.

Use normal A-sym drillings!!!!!!  That pin under stuff they pushed on the Rising was a mistake.  Most people I know hated that drilling.  And those that were doing ok with it,  got brainwashed into thinking it was such a bad drilling, that they in turn started to hate the drilling.   Now Track has put all the normal drillings on the drill sheet.

A little late!!!

Indeed.  I thought the layout was beautiful at first.  However, after my wrist fully healed, I got to see how truly crap that layout was.  I have a 20* 20* with a 5" pin on the S.E. and I'm in love with it.
