I have stated in other threads that I have only had a chance to use it briefly. It is definately a "pretty" ball, but do not let that fool you!!! This thing is a wolf in sheep's clothing on the lane.
For those of you that want a ball that will turn the corner in carrydown this is it!!! When the Xception squirts a little too much, grab the 5.0 and lower the rag top!!!

PS- I will post a mini review once I have had a change to throw it a little bit more.

Ex,
How would this ball fit in with the Xception and Rule? I have both and wanted to see if the X 5.0 would add anything to those 2 or would overlap them. I had read that the X 5.0 might be replacing the Rule as it's been discontinued.
-
kgee 15,
I feel that the Xception 5.0 is a replacement for the Rule, but it gives a different kind of reaction than the Rule. IF ANY OF THAT MAKES SENSE! It takes the place of the Rule as far as overall hook, but the reaction on the lanes is different. The Rule is smoother where the 5.0 reads the mids later than the Rule it adds much more on the backend.
The little bit of time I have had to use it, I had a very difficult time keeping the 5.0 from going nose----that is how strong the backend is.
The best way for me to explain this ball (as stated I will talk more about it once I have thrown it more) is that the roll characteristics are close to the Phenom Unleashed, but with the backend of the Xception AND THEN SOME.

Interesting...thanks Ex! I love the backend on the regular Xception, so I'm eager to find out what the 5.0 adds. Let us know more info when you get more game time with this ball!

I have NEVER been fond of pearls, especially reactives, but I have had success with Del's pearls in general, such as the Nighthawk Revenge, Nighthawk Torque Pearl, Arsenal Angular, and Xception to name a few. I am wondering how this will stack up for me with the super quick spin time. Can't wait to get mine in!

my question is...is it gonna get down the lane like xception with spin time of 5.0?
-
From what Ex has said, it will get down the lane (Goo LS base) but start up sooner than the X and have as much/more backend than the X due to the quick spin time and the light load of Fang Particle added. Sounds like a monster to me! I think it will be in almost, if not more, bags than the GP2 is in right now.

Just looking at the ball on the TRACK site and by it's description, it fooled me, as I said, if it is indeed a pearl ...

I am sure it is if they say it is....especially since we have not had an asymettric pearl particle since the Freak Out.

Is it safe to say then that this ball is good enough to replace my Rule in my bag and sit along side it's brother, the original X?
-
I don't know for sure, but the Rule will have a place in ny bag still because it is a solid reactive....the only solid reactive asymmetrical we have right now. It will still have a prupose and place until another dull solid reactive asymmetrical comes out from Track. The 5.0, albeit stronger than the Rule, has a different cover and core, and thus will do 2 different things, in my opinion.

Will this new Xception 5.0 fit in my new arsenal? Originally I was thinking:
GP2 - have, not drilled
Aggressive - have, not drilled
Angular - don't have yet (I'm thinking Xception 5.0 in this slot)
Xception - have, not drilled
Slash - don't have yet
Big Hit Pearl - yes, its a Storm
but I'm waiting for that "desert heat" to become more than a mirage LOL
How does this sound? Also, is the 5.0 available in pro shops? And is this ball similar to the AI?

Arsenal doesn't sound bad....ball should be available in shops by the end of this week from what I understand. In another Track thread, I believe I read where the 5.0 had more midlane and more backend than the AI.

Buck,
That arsenal does not seem too bad. Layouts and lane conditions will play a factor ofcourse.
The 5.0 is very similiar to the AI, just add a bunch more backend.

I currently have a Phenom Unleashed drilled with the pin under the ring finger mb to the left of the thumb, (I am right handed), I also have a Absolute Inferno drilled label pin just outside the ring finger and a xcel pearl pin above the ring finger mb about a 1 1/2 to the right of the thumb. I ordered my 5.0 tonight, if I drill it like the unleashed what will the reaction be. I know that some of you guys have thrown one so please let me know what to expect. I might just put the pin under my finger and kick the mb to the right, if any of you have tried either of these let me know.
Thanks

Tim
You guys always complicate everything.
-
kid,
If you drill it identical to your Unleashed expect it to get down the lane further before it makes its move, and it will have more backend (if the backends are fresh). With the MB in that position though, it would be pretty tame in overall reaction. Kicking the MB right a bit will give you a strong reaction, thus taking better advantage of what the ball can offer you.
