I need help choosing a Track bowling ball from their new lineup. I live in the boonies and everybody else is throwing Ebonite or Storm, so I don't get to see the new Track stuff in use unless I go out of town.
The major problem is this; the house I bowl in has synthetic lanes oiled 45 feet and only has decent backends one week a month, right after they strip the lanes. In this house, I have to bowl down and in 90% of the time, even with my most aggressive ball. I've been bowling here about a year and have become so accustomed to throwing down and in that when I have to go out of town and have to swing the ball out, I find I can't hit my mark consistently. I've gone to two tournaments in the last month and performed miserably when I had to swing the ball out, from 25 to 5, with my weakest piece, a 13 year old Purple Rhino Pro which I use to throw at spares back home.
So, what I'm wanting to do is get two new Track bowling balls, one that will allow me to throw a moderate (say 25 to 5)swing ball at home (long pattern, no backend to speak of), and another to play the same shot out of town when I have to face short patterns and wood lanes. Maybe even two of the same ball with different surface preps.
