Hey everyone,
Just wanted to let everyone know that I drove an 1 hour & 1/2 (25 mile trip one way *Darn Rush time bumper to bumper traffic!*) to visit tenpinspro (Rick) at his Pro Shop. Rick and I used to bowl in the same tournament from 96-99, and I haven't seen him since. So when I recognized his name on the Boards, It was a no-brainer that I said hello. It was nice to catch up and re-live old memories and talk about old friends we used to bowl with.
For the longest time, I struggled with my fit, didn't know my spans, and was struggling with bowling lingo (especially the past 3 years when BallReviews first came out.) Rick took the time to look at all of the spans on my bowling balls. We caught up and he also explained VAL, PSA, PAP, MB, and TILT all in 20 MINUTES! Yes, that's right 20 Minutes! Ask him for the 20 minute lesson and tell him that I referred you...J/K.
He used a sample weight block to show me how the MB position affects the movement of the bowling ball (i.e. delayed or earlier roll). He also compared Bowling Ball tilt to a bike tire turning. All in all, he made the hard stuff easier for me to understand.
He was even nice enough to let me practice a game before I left. I just want to say if you think he is a Great Guy (and Helpful one at that) here on the boards, he's even better in person. Genuine and down to earth. Thanks again Rick and see you in the shop next week.
With Much Appreciation!
