I brought four balls with me, a Blue Warlock, a Bonanza Track Thrash 2-5/8 x 3-3/8, a Green Centaur and a plastic Amulet.  Used the Thrash and Amulet only.  My line seemed to stay and I only had to move a couple of boards.  Others kept moving left and quite often as the middle seemed to dry out quickly.


Watching a couple of squads over the last few days, it seemed that it did not matter how you got the ball there, but the shot for RH was at the 10 board breakpoint mark.  Most balls rolled over that area seemed to hit the pocket but if the ball got out to 8 or more right, it would not recover.  Getting the ball left of that did not seem to have any hold.  I was standing about 19 and targeting that breakpoint area.

If I could get rid of 2nd games I wouldn't have done too badly.  I used a Silver Streak Solid for the first 8 games and a Silver Streak Pearl for the last game of singles.  I agree that the break point for righties was the 10 board.

The odd thing was is that I used my Big Block Diesel for all nine games (and a spare ball); I probably should have tried a different ball in team, but I was reluctant to switch for some dumb reason...I know I was rolling it well, but I still think it was a better shot than Knoxville or Reno; I know many are complaining about the approaches being sticky, but I didn't have any trouble (use an old pair of Lind's); Good Luck to all

There will be enough backends on the lanes so getting a ball to hook will not be tough.  If you play deep and dont have the revs to get it to recover enough, you might want a strong ball/drilling.  The last couple of years I usually never used any of my stonger balls so this year I brought more mellow/control balls to try.  

I used a Thrash standing about the 19 board and played about the 10 board with no problems.  Some of my teammates were playing much deeper, playing between 15-20 and the deeper they moved, the more the ball hooked.  Out where I was, the oil seemed to stay around long enough and I only moved a couple of boards left through the sets.  A lot of bowlers started out about 15 and started moving left real early.

I never did try the other balls I brought with me (Green Centaur and Blue Warlock) because I thought that the problems I was having were more my fault than the ball not matching up to the lanes so I kept trying to correct myself and never thought about changing balls.

I think one should start out playing where they are most comfortable first and then move if they have to.  Same with the ball.  Bring one you trust (feel more comfortable with) and at least one control ball.
