Watching the squad before me, it appeared there was a little more oil on the lanes than during the team event. It also appeared the lanes had opened up a bit.
Started doubles with my Resurgence. After our 2 practice balls on each lane, it appeared the 7 board at the arrows, swinging no further than the 5 board and at about 9 board at the 45' hash mark was going to be a good line for me.
Started out with a double. The left lane appeared to be hooking a little more than the right. Went light on the right lane, left 7 pin. I went thru the nose on the left lane. The heads were pretty touchy. I just couldn't seem to line myself up after the double. I carried a few light hits on the left lane but couldn't hit on the right lane. I threw maybe 5 good shots that game, ended with 192. Still playing 7 board at arrows on right lane, tried playing 10 board at arrows out to 6-7 and 9 board at 45' on right lane. I threw a few good shots but then it seemed my ball was bitting the lane too early and taking off thru the nose again. I shot 202 that game. Start of the 3rd game, I threw harder but ball would mis break point and would sail and not make it back to the pocket. Moved deeper to 11-12 at arrows but ball would still bite too early, tried even deeper to 15 but same thing. Ended with 159.
Started Singles with Apogee at 11 board at arrows and 10 board at 45' hash mark. Made 6-7 good shots for a 209. Same line to start off the 2nd game but the heads began getting touchy. I started throwing harder to get thru the heads but it was causing me to swing a little further or tug it a bit. Moved a bit deeper to about 16 board at arrows toward the end of the 2nd game, ended with 164. I seemed to have found something playing the deeper line, I threw 6-7 good shots. I had a 4 bagger then I starting to mis my mark or throwing too fast or too slow. I chopped the 6 off the 10 twice and ended the game with 197 for 570 in singles.
If I had to say what the best line and ball combo for me would be, i would have to say a pearl ball to help get thru the heads but have some bite in the back end playing 16 board at arrows out to 10 board at 45' hash mark.
Of coarse I would have to work on my accuracy, consistency. Hopefully I will do better next year.
Hope this helps some of you!
