They just typed "Hell" into the flex machine and ran them.

I laughed a little too hard at that. I almost thought team event was shorter than 38ft, but the use of fire makes sense for it.

I actually though the singles/doubles pattern was really scoreable, I just let my talent tank run dry after bowling the bowlers journal before bowling the main tournament.

Not that much different than last year.  D&S was longer and opened up really nice on Vegas

Just returned from vacation which included bowling the Open on the 5th and 6th.

Team as just brutal, but the bowlers on our pair made it even worse, team score was 2480 and usually we are 3000+. Honestly, the pattern would have been playable but we screwed it up ourselves.

Doubles and Singles was reasonable, similar to what the Open patterns used to be before they went to different patterns for Team and D/S.

Overall, I didn't do well, but on a good note, I did have a 30 Clean Set in Singles. Ironically, I only shot 595 doing it. I think I had a total of 11 strikes in the three games.

30 Clean is awesome especially in those conditions so gratz.  I would feel good about that to even if didn't get the score you wanted but opens bother me more than clean games under 200 do.
