Just got back from my 4th nationals experience and it was my best to date. Purchased a Vendetta 44 Magnum while I was there and used it all 9 games.
Team Event:
Started playing 10 to 5. Had a great look here if only I could have been a tad consistent. If I got my head out my butt would have been fine. Went 176, 178 1st 2 games because of easy spares missed. 3rd game moves further out playing 5 to 2 with an even better look. Had I made my 2 10 pins I would have put a decent score. Instead I shoot 205 for a 559 set. Teamate shot 648 playing about the same line with his inferno. He was more consistent that day.
Doubles:
Started trying to play outside. Boy was that a mistake. That line was not there for me. Outside was pretty much toast. Saw a couple friends move inside and kill the pocket. I follwed and shot 212 1st game. Not bad. Then go 233, 200 the next 2 for a 645 set. Best I've had there and 1st 600 set. If i could have made spares once again I'd have been fine.
Singles:
Had same line as doubles but I for some reason lost my consistency again. Start out with a 204. left the 4, 6, 7 and a 4-9 that hurt me along with my missed 10 pin. Next game have a 208. Another 4, 6, 10 and missed wash out as I decided I thought I had robert smith hand or something. Last game start out with the 4, 6, 7 AGAIN then follow with a washout. Great start. Wanted to shoot 600 too. Thought that was dead but pulled out a 196 for a 604.
I actually shot 1808. Best I've done by far. Had a lot of fun and didnt have to move much when I found the shot for me. Though I worked on my spares a ton I still missed more than I should have. Didnt stay with my shots like I needed as well. With cross-lane spares it was odd. Throwing my white dot was not what I needed as it hooked immediately at both right and left side spares. Threw my crisis pearl when I started making them. I break my wrist back and hardly turn it at the spares yet the ball would hook. Left me puzzled. All was well though. Had I made my easy spares I would have been 600+ 1st set and probably around 700 the 2nd and 650 the 3rd. Oh well. Learning experience. Thought I had made good changes on my style till watching the dvd of team. Time to start working on stuff again as my arm swing has gotten behind my back again. Oh well.
