ABC Lane Condition Link
« on: February 11, 2005, 12:20:31 AM »
Well, they posted the graph.  Under the Lane Condition link it says details will be provided just before the start of the tournament so I don't know if that means they plan on explaining the graph or what.  This doesn't do me much good because I've never been good at reading these things, so if any of you out there with more knowledge than me would like to chime in I'd like to hear about it.

It's posted finally and the original link in this thread is correct. Enjoy the oil. At least it's short pattern.

Thanks for validating my post K-Dawg.  (where's the rolls eyes emoticon when you need one)

At least the people that know what they're talking about didn't question me.

Sorry you feel that way, Dan. I thought you were posting something erroneous. It wasn't there when I went to bowl.com after I saw your link.

My understanding is that they will not be using Kegel products as Brunswick has the gig. I have not found any references to what oil is being used specifically. It was nice last year when John Forst wrote an article explaining the pattern and type of oil and reason for its use, etc. It remains to be seen if Big B has enough interest to do something like this.

for those who haven't recd more info yet, here's a response from the bowl.com forum:

Brunswick supplied four Sanction Standard Elites for the tournament.  Absolute Control Lane Conditioner, Invincible Lane Cleaner, and Gold Edge Lane Cloth are the supplies being used.  The pattern is pretty much sport compliant 36'=1.5:1; 25'=1.7:1; & 15'=2.2:1.  The lengthwise taper of the pattern is 4:1 providing very smooth and predictable ball reaction making adjustments more logical.  Total pattern volume is 23.96 ml.  The Prolane approaches are textured and very consistent, which any bowler should know, will aid in making more consistent shots.

Just returned from Nationals. Bob Hansons discription was very accurate. Tryed to hook the ball in team and was all over the lane, definate ob outside 10.
Late shift 8:00 pm doubles and singles lanes did open up. Moved deep inside for singles, managed 30 closed 667, not in the pot. Took 2 balls for the trip. If I were going again I would add a low flare dry lane ball to attempt playing the mid portion of the lane and spare shooting. Good luck to all.

Yeah, thanks.....I can read. Please note that even though Dan posted it doesn't mean I saw it on bowl.com AFTER I saw his link. Gee, timing is funny that way isn't it.

Bite me, ok.  I've been here OVER 2 years, you've been here 4 months.  You basically accused me of posting a bogus link.  Unlike a lot of bowlers, I want to learn, and I want my fellow bowler, as long as they are willing to put forth a little effort, to succeed.  The link says Bowl.Com, if you actually looked that entire PDF file you would see that it says Baton Rouge at the top.  I posted the link to help, I spend all day on a computer, it's not my fault that you happened across Bowl.com while they were in the middle of an update.

Dan,

Sorry you took it so sensitively. I think "spending all day on the computer" is getting to you. I didn't know that you were so touchy, and since I don't know you, how was I suppose to know your weren't swerving us.
