I've never used Bowling Ball Express before, and in looking at their website, I am a bit confused......
Do they "allow" for you to ship 3-Ball Travel Totes? I see that they do not allow for bags to be shipped, but they allow totes, and in the same sense, they allow for 2-ball and 4-ball shipments, but nothing is mentioned of 3-ball. In the last few years, the 3-Ball Travel Tote has become rather popular.
I'm wondering if anyone has shipped one of these to the Championships via BBE, and if you had any complications?
Thanks.

Why does everyone try to make it harder than it really is? Overthinking makes the game that much more difficult.

I have used BBE 2 times and have always shipped 4 balls in 2 totes packed in a 4 ball box. Unless they have changed things, which I dont think they have, you can only ship balls in totes that handle 2 balls.
I carried my shoes with me on the plane to make sure if something happened with BBE, I would at least have my shoes. I think they are great the way the handle things, but they are not cheap as the USBC has to get their cut.

I checked out the rates as I was considering shipping equipment... $70 for a 4 ball box each way with rediculous restrictions on how the balls can be packed and what you are allowed including in the shipment etc. Worst case on the airline is $15 for one bag and $25 for the second. I can save $30 each way and pack whatever I would like inside my bags. Not much of a choice IMO.

The number one thing I like with BBE, is your stuff is at the lanes. No carrying around 70# from here to there. I shipped my stuff last year to where the 123 tournament was and it was a pain to get my stuff from there to where the Nationals were and carrying that much weight is not good when you have a bad leg and are getting old.

BBE is expensive. I asked the cost to ship ONE 16 pound ball. Their answer.......$50.00. My jaw hit the floor. I do some shipping at my full time job and my experience is that with ground shipments, it costs about $1.00 per pound on average. I expected worst case scenario $20.00 to ship my one ball. Instead, a friend of mine bought a ball from the Visionary Booth and we split the cost of shipping two balls, which came to $30.00 a piece.

If anyone out there is worried about the scores being too high, try duckpin!!

Good point. Insurance is a nice option to have. In my case, I travelled a significant amount last year with my job, so airline bags don't cost anything and the get a fancy "elite" tag stuck in their handles. It certainly doesn't give them preferential treeatment by the handlers though...
