Question about booths in Reno
« on: June 19, 2007, 01:19:29 AM »
I am leaving for Reno this Friday.  As I have posted in other threads, I bowl USBC nationals this weekend, and then I am bowling in the USBC Senior Championship next week.  For that, I have received a shirt with my name on the front and my state on the back.  Included with the shirt is a patch for the tournament, which has not been affixed to the shirt.  I also have a patch that I got at the state qualifier that I'd like to have put on the shirt.

Here is the question for anyone who has been there or anyone who is there now:  Is there a booth at the stadium where I can take my shirt and have the patches sewn on?  I seem to remember booths in the past that do embroidery, etc.

Any help will be appreciated.

go to the usbc booth. it's right across from the tourney check in desk, they do embroidery there for a reasonable price

Rick,

Good luck at the Seniors. From one old man to another if you dont mind, what did you shoot at the state level to get to go to the Seniors?

In my age group which is the same as yours, I needed to shoot around 780 scratch or so to get to the next round in Indiana.

it sure would be nice if they let more seniors participate.  i live in northern california and the senior state tournament is always held in central and southern california, so it is hard to bowl every year.  you also have to win all events to go to the senior championships.  not an easy feat considering all of the low average seniors out there.  are they afraid that they would get too many entries?  that would sure be a great problem to have.

shipper50,
Wow - I had it easy, compared to you.  I only had to shoot 1387 scratch for all events (six games).  I was getting 64 pins of handicap for the six games (208 entering avg.), so I had 1451 total.  Certainly not huge, but in this case, enough to squeak through.

Thanks for the good wishes - I hope it goes well!

Rick,

You ONLY had to shoot 231 average per game for 6 to bowl in the Seniors in Reno? I had my lowest entering average this past touranment with 203 and thought this was my year to make it. But only shot 682 scratch and the winner in group D was 825 with handicap to go on to the next round.

Maybe next year, but have to enter with 215.

Good luck in the Nationals also....

shipper,
At the local level, I shot 749, so 781 with 'cap.  That certainly would not have been enough where you are.  I would have to have shot a new personal best to beat the guy that made it out of your area.  Ouch!    Do you know if he made it through state to Reno?

Thanks again for the good wishes!

Good luck to you next year!

Cptn,
Thanks for the well wishes.

I hope my results are post-worthy - they never have been in the past.

I'm sure that will change this year, though.
