Bowling Ball Express

Hey guys I need a little help I head to Reno the end of June and plan on taking a 4 ball arsenal with me. I don't want to pay to take them on the plane with along with my luggage. My question is what does everyone think about bowling ball express?

Yes BBE was great to ship balls with in the past, but as everything else, the USBC has raised the pricing to force bowlers to look at other means.

If you use them and something happens to your stuff, make sure you have your drilling specs with you so they can figure out how to drill the new ball or balls.

I have figured shipping with my Fedex account and it will save me around $70 round trip. I do agree the hassle of going and picking up my stuff at the Fedex store is something to take into account, but I can eat a pretty nice steak and drinks for $70.

Also, you HAVE to ship the balls and bags separately!  Read the website closely for information on the packaging.  Each ball has to be in its own separate box.  If you are sending 4 of them, you might want to pick up empty boxes from your local pro shop as well as a case box for the 4 individual bowling ball boxes to fit into.

Actually, you can ship 4 balls in 2 tote bags. Read the website closer, it has instructions for shipping 4 balls in totes.They fit in 4 ball box with no problem.

I have never had a problem using them for the past 4 years now. It may be a little expensive, but it is better than lugging your stuff around an airport with you.

Our Team contemplated using BBE this year because they allow you to ship 4 cases and the 5th case is free.  Sounds like a good deal but having travel from one side of the US to the other I knew this couldn't be too good of a deal.

I shipped 6 cases of balls from VA to NV via FedEx Ground for $312 total.  That equates to $52 per case, about $20-$25 cheaper than FedEx.

The other downside of BBE is you have to ship 8-10 in advance and UPS does not deliver on Saturdays.

FedEx Ground will get there in 5 business days and they are moving packages throughout the weekend.  I have always shipped via FedEx Ground and my equipment has always gotten there in 5 days if not sooner!
