Hotel Advice
« on: April 21, 2010, 09:09:40 AM »
I need to book a hotel for the weekend of the 8th and 9th and I am having trouble making a decision so I thought I''d throw it out here.  I''m trying to decide between the Silver Legacy which is closer so I can just walk over to the stadium, or the Grand Sierra which I like better, but would have to drive over.  The main thing I dont know is where I''d be able to park should I drive over from the Legacy.  Any input from everyone would be greatly appreciated.

Chris

Sorry on edit, I wouldnt drive from the legacy I''d drive from the Grand Sierra...

I'd opt for the Silver Legacy..

Walking with at least two balls is a chore in any type of distance even if they are on rollers..

The Stadium has it's own parking garage, so that should not be an issue.

Silver Legacy is attached to the Eldorado and Circus Circus so there is plenty to do right there. Walking to the stadium is really nice as well. As already mentioned there is a parking ramp at the stadium so parking should not be a problem. Myself I have never stayed at the Grand Sierra so I can't say anything about there. The Silver Legacy is nice, stayed there once.

There are lockers at the stadium so if you stay within walking distance you only have to lug the equipment twice, once there and back.  If you don't use a locker it really isn't that long a trek from Harrahs, Silver Legacy or El Dorado.  But parking in the stadium garage is good too.  If you are going to park in the garage, it really doesn't matter where you stay.

I believe that most hotels have shuttle service to and from the stadium. I know the Sands did the last time we stayed in Reno. You don`t have to roll your bags down the streets.

just got back and stayed at circus circus and was happy w/ the room and the shuttle service was great. the shuttle driver will give you a card w/ their phone # and good about getting you to the side events also. don't forget to give them a couple $ for their service and you'll be happy.

Anyone know if the Atlantis has a shuttle to the NBS? I know it does from the airport, but wondered if it did to the stadium.

Thanks

Shipper,

The Atlantis did have a shuttle to the Stadium last time in Reno.  I do not know about this year but I rode it back and forth several times.

Is Circus Circus close and is it a good place to stay? How close is it to the stadium? Clean?

I stayed at Circus Circus in 07 and thought it was good for the money. Clean, good size rooms and can walk to the NBS in about 10 mins or so.
