Bumper bowling
« on: January 17, 2008, 04:14:12 AM »
I've been watching the webcams this morning, and I have to admit that the installation of the automatic bumpers for a national scratch tournament amused me.  I'm sure there's a good reason for it - like it's part of a normal install that can't be eliminated; or they're used in the Special Olympics competition prior to opening day.  But I couldn't help but be tickled that we'll have bumper capabilities at nationals.

I know ... some days it takes very little ...

I agree with you Deb, that is a little odd, and I would like to know the reasoning for it.  I can't imagine they can't install lanes anymore without bumpers, but who knows.  Seems like having different colored golf balls at the Masters similar to miniature golf.  Always interesting every year, and this is one to remember so far for Albuquerque.

Maybe it is to help people feel more like they are at home...it will ease the pain that they aren't on the adult bumper bowl shot.
