Good Hotel deals
« on: May 19, 2004, 08:30:53 PM »
In doing some research for my upcoming trip to Reno, I looked at sites for hotel rates. Was able to secure the peppermill for avg nightly of $75(tower room). Talked to a travel geek friend who said due to the large size of the peppermill they are not normally booked out in the summer months and tend to take low bids if you use priceline. He was correct I was able to secure the same (tower room) for a rate of $37 that is with taxes included ($31 bid). That was also with some weekend days also. Have also heard from him you can bid some of the other large hotels there for minimum prices. Just figured i would drop a line to anyone who is looking for a better deal or in my case free up more bracket money.Good luck to all and Hope to see  Nice Dome and Kat there.

http://www.americanworldtravel.com

This is the official travel agency of the tournament.  I got a room at Harrah's for about 40 bucks less a night than what the best price on any website I found was.

Photoc,

You could have taken that rate and sent it to cheaptickets.com. They have Harrahs listed as their 110% garuntee for lowest rate. They would have given you a cheaper rate using the discount. (You would have had to book with cheaptickets.com then cancel the AWT booking but notify them of the difference in rates. Had also checked a few of the bid sites and got Harrahs for $51/night(all taxes included)including weekend days. Also check your hotel to see what the tax rates are. I used American World travel for ABC's in syracuse and got hit with a pretty high tax rate.

I am staying at the Reno Hilton from the 9th through the 14th of June....

Have a special Poker Rate going on.....

Sun-Thur.....25 bucks a night...
Friday and Sat....35 bucks a night...

Can't beat that with a stick.....

Sr,

Where did you book it through, was it direct or somewhere else and is there any stipulations to the deal. I have a few friends staying at the Hilton next week.

Actually saw the rate in Card Player magazine..

Have them call the Reno Hilton direct...and have them ask for the Poker Rate...

or they can call 1-888-547-2081

Mention the Code CASPGJ and they should be good to go.

Hope this helps.

I just booked a room using that information.  Does anyone know what they will ask besides the normal check-in information during check-in?
