Whoa.. I just caught this.. so you're saying that we would need to get those honour scores and multiples done prior to 8/1/14 to get recognized for each one.

I've seen so many posts about this (especially on Facebook)  My main question to everyone that is complaining:

What do you really expect to receive for a $10 National Sanctioning Fee?  (please remember that national sanction is $10 the other portion is state fees)

I don't not get a whole lot for my $10 IMO, and when I renew online, my state loses their $1 as well, correct?

BTW, I agree with Riggs on the skin-in-the-game claim. If I am a new bowler, my card should be the bare costs. If I am bowling 5 leagues a week, have 40 honor scores to my name and so on, my card and participation should cost me more.

For every honor score going forward, since it won't be a 900, the only one I have left, I will donate the funds to something productive and beneficial to bowling (Would love to see the ability to have monies donated to your local/City/State/Association scholarship tournament, for example)

Riggs, that's a helluva idea and the best resolution I've heard. Because IMO if they don't come up with something else besides eliminating the awards and raising the fee, I think it's USBC's death knell.

Or something like this: I will be bowling on three leagues this winter, but I will only have to pay a one time fee.

How about I pay the full fee on one of my leagues, and a partial fee on my other two leagues. More money for the USBC and the one league bowler feels better about someone like me having more skin in the game.

The way it should be is no one directly pays a certification fee. It should be that bowling centers take a small amount out of each week's league fees and tourney fees and that goes to USBC and EVERY league bowler is automatically certified. And those like me who bowl a lot pay more. Every other week couples league bowlers pays way less.

That would most-likely kill your Local Association and also feed the BPAA's goal of being in charge of lane certifications and sanctioning.

I understand your angle on this as far as the more-casual bowler paying the same sanction fee as a competitive-seeking bowler, but do we really want the BPAA in charge of that stuff I mentioned? There would be no check & balance here...unless I am missing something.
