Who's using what in Vegas?
« on: March 30, 2009, 07:36:44 AM »
Right now, I'm taking an SR300 (pin in ring finger and mb under thumb) and a Black Widow solid 5" pin up and 45 degree mb. I think this will be good, but I need to prep the surfaces right. Who's using what with success?

It looked to me like the same ball, but boy you talk about 2 different lines to the pocket. Even the guy with the 800 who had a hitch in his arm got the ball to the hole.

the guy that shot 800 owns the alley i bowl at home and he has that little hitch but take nothing from him, he is a very good bowler and has been for many years, he is also an eagle winner in the team competition so he knows how to play.

I took the following:
Black Pearl
Black Pearl/Reactive
Terminator
Terminator Rebellion
Dynamic Power
and Spare Ball

Wound up only used the Black Pearl/Reactive and spare ball for all 9 games, did ok and won 120 in brackets in team and 180 in minors.

well, this should really be an adventure for me as i have just drilled up all new gear after not having a ball drilled in about 5 years! i'm planning on taking a virtual gravity, the one, twisted fury destruction, tropical storm, scorchin inferno and a spare ball. i have been a pba member since 2000 and have bowled on some challenging conditions. this year marks my first nationals however so i'm pretty optimistic. looking forward to having a good time no matter what!

Thanks for the info, but what did you use and what worked would be very helpful to those that haven't gone yet.

my guess on the ball used during the 800 sets looks sort of like a grand illusion .but there are other balls that resemble them also.

I used a scorchin inferno drilled 1:30 sanded @ 500 for team, wish i had mor pop on the back end, used a big block diesel 1:30 @ 2000 for doubles i threw away pins on spares, i used an angular 1 label leverage it was a little tracked up for singles and had a great look, it was not at box finish it probably had 50 games on it since a resurface to box.
