I tried all 4 airline on USBC website.  You have a better change of getting a cheaper flight through expedia, travelocity, cheapticket, etc.... then through the airlines.  The code is for phone orders only plus a $10 per ticket fee. Two of the three airlines quoted $412.50 round trip.

GOOD LUCK LOOKING FOR CHEAP FLIGHTS.  I figure this years flight will cost $100 more than 3 years ago.

Our airfare was considerably cheaper by getting one connection.  I think direct it would have cost us $350+, but we are going through SF on the way there (United) and Salt Lake (Delta) coming home and it's under $250 a person.  I booked it through Expedia.

I have found packages with hotel like at circus circus and eldorado for 488, air and 3 nights stay, seems like most of the hotels this year are not allowing saturday check in UNLESS you book a package, which is pure BS in my book

GO TO USBC WEB SITE.

I found that booking room through the USBC hotel reservation is the cheapest.  Packages are inflated for hotel.  Package with air and hotel for Silverlagecy  461 with 2 double beds - 500 for queens.  Air only 320.  Hotel ($436) $109 for 4 nights (divided by 4 guys with 2 queens).  No extra charge for guest 3 and 4.

Airfare for the dates I'll be going is expensive, minimum of 425 per ticket.  Hotels were very cheap, we reserved rooms w/ 2 queen beds at the Silver Legacy and for 3 nights it will be around 250.  With airfare prices way up there, our group is deciding to make the 26 hour drive from Minnesota to Reno, boy I can't wait for that.

From just south of Toledo, OH.  I am not driving to reno.  Drove to Billing, Knoxville, and Baton Roughe.  Looks like I will be flying for the next several years.  Thank god the oil prices are dropping!

People in the mid-west like detroit and Minneapolis look to see if there are any two-leg flights on sale from eastern state cities and just use the back leg of the flight. As they are connecting hubs lots of choices. Also usually around march airfare wars happen across most airlines. Checking the airlines websites during that time never hurts. Especially if you see a cheap fare to Vegas and then just book a ticket through like southwest from Vegas to Reno. Usually i book whenever we can get a good price and if i find one to beat it through various sites like priceline or expedia then cancel and get full refund up to one week before flight time. Also a call to a local travel agent never hurts. Give them you phone # and a time line that if a deal comes along to call you to book it. Entice them with the thought of 8-10 guys wanting to do that. They usually are more than eager. Never paid more than $250 roundtrip to any destination in the last 8 years from Albany,NY or Windsor Locks, Conn. Always look to have one stop to drive the cost down.
