I really hope it happens...I used to go to El Paso all the time for work and I miss all the good places to go eat out there.

That would be awesome.  Finally a place stepping up that is somewhere I have not been before.  Been to Reno 4-5 times, Albuquerque twice, and then a few other places.  Nice to see some place different. Hope it happens as well.

Travel costs gonna be a big issue for El Paso just like Reno, I would think:

Nahh...just get a direct flight to Juarez and take the underground tunnel into El Paso.  Only adds about six hours and 15,700 pesos to the costs.

Still hoping for Orlando to pull through for four reasons:

Direct flights for a lot more people

More things for families to do

Hot like El Paso in May/June, but at least it's near the water

Spring training baseball in March

Does seem like a bad place to try and go. Probably end up at the home of the new USBC before too long anyways.

Be good, or be good at it.

Not bad place to go. A couple of Casinos, good food , great night life. The violence has not spilled into El Paso. By 2015,  Juarez could have its problems solved. I work in Juarez. Cross the bridge every day. I know alot of other Americans that do the same thing every day. If your worried about the violence in Juarez, don't go there.

The womens National Open was held here last year and the overall impression from the ladies that participated

was positive. I,ve bowled in Reno three years and if i had to pick between Reno and El Paso to bowl the Nationals

I'd pick El Paso.

Three of your reasons are sound, but Orlando is 50 miles from the ocean.  Might have to hit a water park if you want your water!

I wonder why they dont consider Arlington,TX a place for nationals. Its the capital of the USBC. Everything is pretty close together and there is tons to do. DFW is a major airport. It would be nice if they could bring it here. You have the Bowling Hall of Fame, ITRC, USBC and BPAA headquarters, Six Flags over Texas right next door along with Ballpark in Arlington. Plus tours of Cowboys Stadium is only $15 i believe.

I'm against it...  way too close the really, really bad part of Mexico

How about bringing it back to the east coast more often than once every 10 yrs...  There has to be somewhere in NC or VA (so the weather isn't too bad) that can handle the volume.

Because Arlington (or anyplace in the Dallas area) has not bid for the tournament, so far as I know.

It's all about the money. For me, it doesn't matter, I'm still one of those people that they could hold the tournament in Alaska every year and I'd still go.

The answer is easy, two words: No Casinos.

The Casinos are always a big sponsor for the USBC and they help supply the up-front money a city needs to put in a bid. They know the bowlers will dump tons of money into the casinos and they can make it up ten-fold. Without them, the cities won't have a chance to put a winning bid.
