Fresh oil or not?
« on: April 14, 2010, 07:20:45 AM »
I have my S/D squad at 7:00am. Will there be fresh oil or do they just oil before team squads?

FRESH !!!
But will play differently than team even though that was fresh as well.  Double strip that down time between the last squad from the night before that gets done about 2-2:30 and your 7 AM squad.  All other oil runs during the day before each team event is single strip.

i have the 7 am squad this year too, and im dreading it...it sooo hard to break them down to get a good look the first game, just gotta grind it out and hope to catch a double and avoid splits till they break down a little bit

As I understand it, there is only one program in the 4 machines.

Thanks guys. I leave for Reno in the morning and bowl team on Sunday at 2:30pm and S/D on Monday. I've got lanes 1 and 2 for team and 37 and 38 moving to 40/41 for S/D.

Bowled on the fresh in D/S this year.  Team seemed a little oiler but we were on 5 and 6 for team and then 65 and 66 and 67 and 68 for the minors.  Being on the left side it's always fresh.  Team was a 8:30PM and minors 7:00AM the next day.

Bob, the different reaction for minors vs. team on fresh comes from the double strip overnight vs. single trip before team oilings.  Double strip = cleaner lane = more hook (usually!).

That explains why the ball moved a little sooner the next day.

Team squads are all on the fresh.  Only D/S on the fresh is 7AM.
