How are the hotels in Reno? I am particularly interested in Circus Circus, Harrah's and Peppermill but still considering others. Any problems with asking for non-smoking?
Thanks,

Just got home from Reno. We stayed at Harrah's. It wasn't bad and it's well within walking distance of the National Bowling Stadium. Good Luck.

I have been to Reno 4 times now and have never had a problem at either Silver Legacy or the Eldorado. We usually alternate between staying at the two. Walking distance to the stadium and interconnected.

Unless you like kids and long walks skip Circus Circus. Peppermill is good but a little further away from the stadium. The Atlantis is great but is a little further away than the Peppermill. Both run shuttles I believe and if you have a car you can be to the stadium in about 5 minutes from either.

+ 1 on harrah's it's an OK place to stayt and real close. I will probably stay there next year again.
-
another vote for Harrah's really nice and right next to the bowling stadium!!

If you have a car, then Peppermill or any other hotel is fine. Atlantis is good, cheaper accomodations can be found if you request the lodge rooms. Those are a two story set of old Motel 6 Style rooms. They are not attached to the casino.
We usually stay at El Dorado or Legacy. Sands is OK, but you'll need a car. But if you stay at Circus Circus, El Dorado or Silver Legacy you have a lot of indoor eateries and such. I am not particularly fond of Circus Circus due to the very large amount of children running around. Plus Legacy and EL Dorado are closer to the stadium.

Circus Circus was good during the week. Only on the weekends was the place crazy with Kids. Peppermill was okay and Harrah's seems like a good place. Not sure really on Harrah's since we will be staying there the last week of May.

Just returned. Stayed at Peppermill and would recommend it. Nice fitness facility that I used every day. If you have a car it's an easy choice. There's a ton of good restaurants and stores away from the downtown area, too.

I guess it comes down to how close you want to be to the Stadium, both Circus Circus and Harrah's are walking distance. Harrah's has always seemed much nicer than CC but I have never stayed there, just walked thru and seen a show or two there. The Peppermill just did an enormous renovation, so I would imagine it is nice, but have nothing to go with there. One other possibility I would throw out is the Grand Sierra, they have suites there with a nice steam shower that run about $100 a night. But of the three I'd say either Harrah's or Peppermill, with the deciding factor being if you want to walk, or be a little isolated away from downtown.

If you are into being frugal....Sands is a great deal....call and ask for the PBA rate and you can get rooms for $20/night on weekdays and $45/night weekends. You have to call direct to the hotel...USBC is not offering this rate....and it is only a block further than ElDorado and Silver Legacy
Beds are so so, but I guess they replaced those, and they have a great 50''s style diner. Small poker room with nightly tourneys.

Stayed at the Peppermill and loved it... Would go back in a minute.. It's a good distance away from the stadium but they have shuttles so getting there is not a problem.. The other ones are right close by so it all depends on what you want.. I have heard good things about all of them so it's a no lose situation.. Good one to be in lol.. Have a blast whichever one you choose..
