Hotels - Information appreciated.

Doing a little booking for friends who are going and looking for deals! Where did you stay? Did you like it? How much$$?

Currently we have found good rates at both Atlantis and Peppermill.
$40-$55 per night. Atlantis had some promotional cards sent out with rates or on their site. Peppermill and Atlantis also can be secured using priceline.com. If you use priceline please call the next day to reserve your room especially at peppermill as they have two areas and try to stay in the tower area.

Another site to hit for information is cheapotravel.com and look for the Reno area. He does a nice job of breaking down the details.

I stayed at the peppermill most of the time.  Motel 6 the first night.  Honestly, I probably would have been happier at the motel 6.

Peppermill rooms are nice.  If you are dragging your bowling balls, be prepared to cart them a bit on some thicker carpeting.

Bring snacks.  Mini bar in the room is $2.50 for a can of soda, and $6.50 for a bag of peanut M&Ms.

My friend and I liked the buffet over at circus circus.  The one at the Peppermill was almost double the price, and wasn't that great.

At the Peppermill, you will have to pay for internet in your room.  They offer "free" internet in thier business area.

If I were too do it all over, I would have stayed at Circus Circus or Motel 6.

I didn't really think it would matter, but I did enjoy the ability to just leave the car parked and walk to and from the stadium and Circus Circus where I stayed. With the Atlantis and Peppermill, you are at the mercy of either using their shuttle or having to drive back and forth.

If you are going for a dirt cheap room, hard to beat $30 for the Motel 6.

Thanks guys,

In 04 we stayed at the Peppermill. Great rooms and using the shuttle was not a problem they were going about every hour. The coffee shop in the back is good eats fairly cheap especially for the portion size. Atlantis we have never dealt with but signed up online for promotionals. I am not going for a few more years but usually do most of the booking for the party. These guys are not hurting for the cash but I try to save as much as possible so they can load up the brackets more. A few like to gamble also and Peppermill has a nice floor. Thanks for the responses will look into Motel 6.

I stayed at the Atlantis in 2004 and was not impressed.  The rooms were small, the casino was tight and several in our group got sick from the food.  We stayed at the Peppermill in 2001 and liked it.  We were going to stay at the Peppermill this year, but found out there is some construction going on so we decided to book at the El Dorado instead.

Nothing special, but clean, cheap, and comfortable is Fitzgeralds.  It is walking distance from the Stadium and only $38/night.

We have always stayed at the Silver Legacy, El Dorado complex.

Best casinos, nice rooms, good restaurants, easy walking distance to stadium and not thru neighborhoods you would fear for your life in.

Weeknights rooms are $69 at the el.

If you are going to spend hundreds to get there why skimp on accomodations?

Well, we only tried them for breakfast, but circus circus was the easy winner of the two.

What about Harrah's?

We always stay at Silver Legacy or Eldorado.  Nice rooms, good food, close to everything.  We never rent a car, and while it can be a pain to drag your bowling stuff over, I'd rather do that than sit on a shuttle bus.  Also, I'm not much into gambling, so a couple times I'd just walk over to the stadium and watch the bowlers or check out the booths.  Something you can't easily do at Peppermill or Atlantis.  Most of the guys in our group stay at Harrah's because a few of them gamble so much at the Harrah's near Chicago they stay for free.  My 3 choices would be SL, Eldorado or Harrah's.
