How many bowling balls do you

need to take to Nationals to think you have any chance to compete? 3 seem to be about right, one polished, on dull, and your trusty spare ball.

Im taking 8 cause that is the max u can. I think the more the better. at least to a point

Four are enough for me because I'm less confused about ball reaction with three coverstocks to deal with and then of course White Dot

Bring 6 with me and carry 4 down the aisle---I see what Im comfortable with on tougher side tourneys. Even if they arent the same, having confidence in my equipment is important. Then narrow my range for when Im bowling the main event. I also base alot of what I do and what I throw---on what I see from other people bowling on the pattern. I seem to have a knack with that.

Last year it was Cell (early arc), Classic Zone (strong flip), Flash Force (Rico drill), and spare ball. The Classic Zone never made it out of my bag. I had tremendous confidence in the Cell---even though I only threw it about 10 games before I left. I had faith and it didnt let me down. The Flash Force I also had confidence in. It hooked more than I expected and allowed me to play very deep during doubles without sacrificing carry.

I'm only going with 3 pieces....

I have a pin up RIVAL that I'm going to take down to 2000 grit with polish and I have a pin down Rival that is going down to 1000 grit.

The third piece is probably going to be a LOUD NOIZE which will be drilled pin up either 4.5 x 4 or 5 x 5.....something I can go to in leagues when the shot goes and the Rivals have to go back in the bag. I am bowling the 3rd (11:40) S/D Event this year (I am not happy with that) and I know it will be tough. However, I have looked back in my past appearances at the Open and have noticed my best score has come in my last game of the singles event. Maybe I really prefer to bowl on scorch....I guess I will find out on March 10th....

Good Luck Everybody
