With house conditions such as they are, Ball technology getting better, I have gone from a pure stroker to decent tweener, with a lot of hand/wrist to get the ball around the corner. 14.5 - 15 mph with about 350-400 Revs.
Now we come to the sport patterns and USBC nationals.
I went with a team of guys that primarily point the ball from somewhere between 10 to 15 to the pocket. I like to swing the ball a little, so my preferred line is 13 to about 6 and back. Working as a team to break down the lanes usually gets me blank stares, so I was pretty much on my own.
The short pattern would not allow me to use my sanded equipment (Modern Marvel 4000 grit, Nano 4000 grit, or world Beater 2000 grit). I settled on my polished c300 ourburst (4000 + polished). I physically bowled as well as I have ever bowled. 11 to 7 to pocket. 9 out of 11 solid pocket with about a 30% carry. I stuck with it to see if the lanes would begin to carry. They did not. 538. Humbling.
Thought long and hard that night an decided that since everyone was inside of me, I would try my sanded equipment and go inside of them. 15 board, here I come!
I was right, I could actually carry.....however.
miss one board to the right or push the ball too much leaves washout or 2-8-10.
miss one board to the left or too much hand leaves big-4.
a pocket without enough hand was a 7-10.

Never broke 190 for 9 games. 1550 all events.
Humiliating.
Since I came back, I am trying to get back to being more of a Stroker.
