Maybe I'm just getting old, but the "New, Improved" Bowl.com site really sucks.
Does the listings for the sub board get removed after they have been filled? Or is there actually not any listings on the site? Or am I just not smart enough to figure it out?

If you go to the main forum site (forums.bowl.com) (http://"http://forums.bowl.com"), there is separate forum for posting for subs for the open tournament and a separate forum for posting for subs for the women''s tournament. The only catch is that you must be logged on to access the sub forums.
I posted for a sub a few weeks ago and after I found a sub, I just locked the forum thread...it was not removed.
And BTW, the bowl.com site sucks in a MAJOR way...it is a huge inconvenience to access the site and try to find what you need...once you do, it''s hit or miss whether the link works or gives you an application error or a not found error and it is dog slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow. Other than that it''s fine...not! LOL

I can't really say what I think of the new improved bowl.com site as I would get censored. I heard one time, if it aint broke, dont fix it?

I am really surprised that the USBC has not fixed their website yet. How much money does it cost to put up a new website like theirs?

I have said this before. The company I work for designs web sites and if anything we created worked this bad, our customers would have fired us.

I wrote the USBC back in October about their site. I received an email with a phone number and a request to call and talk to Pete Tredwell. He is the executive that oversees the website. Maybe if enough people call or write they will listen.
I won't post my whole email but here is my ending signature
USBC Bowlers love BOWL.COM.. but not this one

I bet if we found out how much the USBC spent on overhauling the website we would S our pants... I bet it wasn't cheap..
But for their sake I hope it was cheap because a middle school kid could have designed a better site..

I have no experience in this matter, so I am curious if there is some kind of warranty for a bad website like the one USBC got. Can they get the site repaired by the company that designed it free of charge or is like government contracts and they would have to pay extra to get a working model? If they have to pay extra, that might be why it's not working well yet.

I think you are correct. I wonder if the USBC posted the cost somewhere? Do they have any accountability to the members as to expenses?

Good one.
I wonder if they broke the bank with He Who Shall Remain Nameless' rings?

Just an FYI....from a good source inside the USBC at the time the person that re-did the bowl.com site back in late summer was canned in Sept. Not that it helps any of us now.

It drives me nuts every time I get on that site. My wife is in charge of a 1200 page website and did a complete redesign of the entire site last year. It took her and one other person 30 days to redo every page on it then relaunch it with a different server company. My point is that as small as the Bowl.com site is they could get it redone in a matter of a week or so if they really cared. I wonder how much traffic the site is getting this year compared to years past.
