Anyone going to stay in Lake Tahoe this year?
I was thinking of staying out there and was looking for any hotel references you'll might have. I going at the end of May, so I am hoping there is still some snow on the ground so I can take my dog up there as well. Maybe make a real vacation out of nationals this year.

Thanks in advance

I'm staying in Tahoe this year as well. I don't know of hotels at all in the area because it's my first time out there. I rented 2-2 bedroom condos at The Ridge Pointe. That's the closest place to Reno that my timeshare has. We are going March 7th through the 12th, and bowling on the 8th and 9th. There are 4 couples going and we're all taking our kids to go skiing. That's pretty much our family vacation this year.

By the looks of the pictures I've seen, looks amazing out there. Can't wait!!!!!

And I was also told by my teamates, the skiing better be after bowling.

The Best Westren in Lake Tahoe is great.  Back of the building is the lake, great resturant along side the hotel last time I was there, about a 10-15 minute walk to the casinos, chair lift and dinner cruise.

I used to live in SF Bay area, best bet for your money is to look online and rent a csbin/house from someone. Usually cheaper then the hotels, you do some grilling/BBQing if you have a lot people, and have a great time. My wife and I did this one year for our anniversery and got a big cabin that could sleep like 12 for just the two us, cheaper then any hotel room for a week.

I have never really stayed at any of the hotels in Tahoe, but they all seem ok from what I have seen of them when visiting. I also recommend the dinner cruise. Although we went in August so it was nice and not too cool and the food was good.

With the dog in tow, you are kind of limited.  I just saw advertisement in Reno that the Sands is going "pet friendly".  Don't know the particulars.  But La Quinta is about as high up you get that allow pets.  Park Tahoe Inn is pet friendly.  Super 8 is always a good bet.

I don't know how many rental homes will allow pets.
