Lane 81 & C.A.T.S.
« on: March 05, 2007, 06:36:12 AM »
Does anyone have any information regarding Mike Janow (sp?) and the C.A.T.S. system in Reno, like costs if reservations are needed or maybe a website?

Thanks,
Jeff

Hey Guys,

I just got back.

I had my game analyzed while I was there.

Mike is great.  He shredded my game.  Not really.  Basically everything I do wrong is because I have early timing, causing me to "muscle" the ball though my swing.  It is so cool that he has pros that he has worked with on computer to compare things to.

I would highly recommend this to everyone.  Hell, is Jeff Carter and Chris Barnes worked with Mike I think we all could.

My personal recommendation though, if timing allows, DO NOT do this before you bowl.  I spent too much time thinking about timing that I forgot to throw the ball for about 2 1/2 games in Doubles.

If you need any other information or want other comments, send me a pm,
Jeff

Thundercat23, how far in advance were they booked up when you were there?  This is for those asking about reservations.

He had like two openings for the day I wanted like a week in advance, but, I heard guys on Friday asking when was the soonest and he said Tuesday.  So, it sounds like a minimum of five-seven days.

Just went and had the C.A.T.S done and would highly recommend it for everyone it ran me $329 with storm shift included. Mike is great and really helps alot got me to free up my swing and gain 1.5 mph on my ball speed he also doesn't make you feel he is to good to help even if your Avg. is 170 like mine the only bad deal with the whole experience was storm booth the guys there were very unfriendly just wanted to drill the ball and move on took them 10 min to take care of me and come to find ot they drilled my ball to go straight or for a cranker which i,m not 270 rev rate my drill was pin above and between fingers key just right of thumb but like I said Mike was great and he told me to make reservation a week or two in advance.

I had the storm guys drill a ball for me as well.  I haven't even thrown it and I have to plug the fingers, b/c they screwed up the pitches.  Pass on the storm booth.

Thanks for the info, I'm going to be doing this also when I go up in June.  The info on the Storm booth is good too, I'm taking a Shift up there to get drilled, and may have it done at another booth instead.  Storm is my company, but last year went to Corpus Christi, and needed a new ball, was going Storm all the way, but they were so fast to say 2 things and look for the next customer, I left and strolled by the Columbia booth.  Had a very nice conversation there that took at least an hour, totally over and above helping a customer, or potential customer out.  Wound up picking up a Radar from that booth instead, and loved the grip.  Do they get upset if you take a Storm ball to the Columbia or Brunswick booth to get drilled, that's what I'd like to do, or else, I'll just get it drilled before I head up.  Thanks for the help, saved me a bit of grief maybe.  C'mon Storm, get some better people in that booth, we love you, but we need typical, helpful Storm people there.

Check the May 10 post by bruns4life in this thread:

You might find it helpful.

When are you going in June?  I'll be there from the 23rd to the 27th.  I bowl USBC on the 23rd and 24th, and then the USBC Senior Championships on the 26th and 27th, which is also in the stadium.

Thanks a ton, that's a great deal, and the Brunswick guys have always been good when I've dealt with them in the past.
