the last time I was in Reno, I stayed at the Silver Legacy. Very Nice place, not expensive, and it's only a few minutes walk to the stadium.

He goes through each place, whats good and bad and where to eat and gamble. Gave me some tips that i used last time for where to eat. Another site to use is

Biddingfortravel.com

It is a large site but gives access to whats being accepted or rejected by priceline. I got awesome rooms at Peppermill last time for $49/night. If you win on priceline call ahead to the hotel to confirm room reservation or they will put you in the oldest rooms they have.

If you want to walk around silver legacy is good. If you rent a car Peppermill and Atlantis are quite fun. Good luck  and if you have questions feel free to message me.

I stayed in the Hilton two years ago for an aerospace conference and it was pretty nice.  Got a 50-lane bowling alley on the ground floor, too.  I don't know how expensive it was, I think it was around $80-90/night, but I wasn't paying for it myself.

I have stayed at Silver Legacy several times, very nice but a little higher than the other downtown casinos. Last time we stayed at Circus Circus, rooms still nice, a little cheaper and only half a block further from the stadium. The three main casinos are all connected on the second floor, so you can wander from one to the other for food and gambling.
