My 2022 Nationals Report

Let’s get this out of the way first. I sucked.

This is from a lefty’s perspective (rev rate is around 275)

Started off the trip and bought the team practice session at the bowling center (where the BJ is being held and where doubles/singles was last year). Everything hooked. I knew the plaza has less friction but I was using my Purple Tank and had quite a good look. I decide to start with more ball expecting less friction at the plaza.

Get to team and I can’t get my Tank Blitz to wrinkle. Out of box Blue Tank? Nope. No chance. Couple bad shots and a couple missed spares and write this one off.

Next day I bowled the BJ at noon. I expected more friction than the team pattern and it did not disappoint. I was right of the 4th arrow with a polished Covert Tank. Tried my  polished Blue Tank and had a decent look until the Vise IT thumb ring dislodged from the thumb. Oh well

Doubles and singles played very similar to how the BJ played but with more friction. No joke. I know the patters are the same. I used my urethane Purple Tank for 4.5 of the 6 games and the polished Covert Tank the rest. Had a great look with urethane right up 11/12 no belly. Could not get the ball started left. If I did it was instant death.

All in all I threw the ball like junk in team and threw it better in doubles and singles. A few poorly executed shots mixed with missed make ables spelled. doom for me.

I saw the same thing in S/D vs the Journal - the Plaza seemed to have more overall friction. It was surprising, to be honest.

Interesting, I seem to recall a previous conversation about Urethane at the Open.

See how I threw the ball like junk. Would not have mattered if I had ball XYZ in my hand it would not have mattered much.
