298 at Nats
« on: June 27, 2007, 09:46:31 AM »
Just watched a woman shoot 298 in Reno today in singles.  She was throwing straight up 6 or 7.  Couldn't tell what ball she was throwing.

The photo shows this woman wearing jeans?

I always thought that jeans weren't allowed?

Yes, that's her.  I was watching, as well.  I didn't see what she was throwing, either, but she was throwing it well.

She must have had some nerves issues, because she came back with 170 and 195 for 663.

I don't remember when they started allowing jeans (last two years, or so?), but they are allowed these days.  Still no shorts allowed, though.

On men or women?  I wore jeans back in 1999(my first nationals), and everyone I crossed with this year wore jeans.

Jeans have always been permitted. Only requirement is a collared shirt of some sort. (mock included)

mock collar included if in team your whole team has the same shirt, or in singles/doubles your partner has the same shirt...I found out about that stupid rule last year.  Either the type of shirt is permitted or it isn't, no conditions should have to apply about the legality of attire.

Not next year.

When we bowled in May, the doubles team on our right did not wear matching mocks, and Kevin Olsen mentioned that mocks would be allowed on everybody next year.  He also mentioned about the greatest golfer in the world, as well as a USBC sponsor wanting them.

I know this is late....and after-the-fact, but kudos to my homeboy, Greg Turner,
who also shot a 298 at Nationals!

And a 720 set to boot!
