How can you claim they are Pro's, and then say it like it's a negative thing? I guess if you consider a bowler who competes in an occassional Regional tournament, the regular state and county tournaments, and three leagues a week a professional, well then you could probably say that 80% of us are pros. I love it when people see someone people obtain a significant accomplishment and automatically bash them. They hit a pair that they matched up with and managed to stay consistent through an entire set. We've all been there, but I'm sure it hasn't happend on a stage as grand as the National Tournament. Knowing both of them personally, I would say that they probably lined up off each other rode the wave. In a tournament like this, it's definitely easier to put up a number when there is positive energy around you. If they were surrounded by guys shooting 450, I doubt it would have happened, but they were surrounded by great bowlers and even better friends, so they were very comfortable and after the first game they definitely had momentum on their side. When your teammate is striking, it's much easier for you to follow suit. Solid teamwork. If anyone read the article on bowl.com, you'll see that they both opened early in the third game, pushing them to the test. They simply regrouped, buckled down, threw a double, and picked up right where they left off. Truly the act of champions. In a tournament of this magnitude, shooting a number of that nature is impressive. If you are familiar with the tournament process, you walk into the doubles portion, throw a couple of shots and get right into competition, you barely have time to get loose and warm up, nevermind get lined it, that makes it even more impressive to me.
"Professional" or not, it's an accomplishment that should be congratulated and not scrutinized. Great bowling guys..............
