nationals topic!
« on: March 14, 2013, 11:31:57 PM »
Alright so im looking for input again! For those of your that gave me advice last time around...thanks!

So now I gotta ask! What is your nationals ball of choice? Im going to go for a reign of power I believe.  I am thinking symmetrical solid with some surface (oob is 1000 grit).  I did very well with a prodigy last time in Reno,  but that puppy is worn out.  So that being said...what do you guys think or recommend AND what is going going to be your ball of choice???
In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]
*Now Testing* IQ Ruby, Renevant, another IQ Tour solid
Coming soon...???

I am going with a Pin Down Columbia Oath at 1000 grit, Columbia Omen at 2000 and bring a Columbia Vow pin down at box surface.

All pretty controllable pieces

I'm going with my Soul and surface.  Great midlane read and a bit of surface will slow the ball down a bit but still have some punch on backed. Then dropping to a 4000 surface war eagle. Followed by a Nomad Solid pin down with surface and Seismic Blackout polished.

The Reign of Power should be a nice choice, but be careful with too much surface unless you throw it hard.

For most of us if you leave the ball too dull it reads the mid-lane well, but responds too slowly on the back. I would guess that something around 2000 may be a good balance of mid-lane read and finish (unless you have faster ball speed).

Let us know how you do. When do you bowl?

For my game I took a 500 ab LF Judgement, 1000 ab scuffed pin-up Judgement and a polished pin-up Torment. Depending on what part of the lane you play will dictate which ball will give you the better carry. Repeating shots are a premium.

Pin down symmetric for team, some surface to start
The oil holds up pretty well, doesn't transition as much (depending on other factors, such as lane play, surfaces, etc..)

anything that you can control the breakpoint with.
And make your spares.................

At not clay, I currently dont have anything with surface so it will be a great addition to the arsenal.

I have plenty of 2000, 3000, and 4000 grit balls ill have those bases covered :) ( I have a nib vr solid and a nib theory as well at my disposal hehe)

I will certainly go pin up...

I bowl mothers day sunday and monday I think may 12 and 13th.  Not 100% sure of times, but its a popular weekend,  I think ussery was bowling last time in reno, and in baton rouge I saw chris forry from the buddiesproshop.com videos

Go and see KYLE at the EBONITE booth before you bowl.
bring your stuff and he can suggest surfaces and where the shot seems to play the best.
Super knowledgeable guy, was a huge help to myself last year.

Adjusted some surfaces for me, suggested i try out a bit more than where i had practiced at home and upstairs.

he was right on.
they can also adjust surfaces and /or suggest what the minors shot is doing.

Kyle is good.    Planning on paying him a visit next week before I bowl and maybe drilling a new ball before I bowl
